In The Saddle was founded in the spring of 2016 by Nicholas Basalyga to be a complimentary solution for individuals in early recovery. Following an inpatient treatment experience, individuals are typically provided with a continuing care plan as a guide to their early recovery. For example, a continuing care plan may recommend an individual to follow through with their outpatient care provider, attend 90 12-step meetings in 90 days, join a home group, and ask someone to be their sponsor. While following through on those commitments, individuals are often told to change everything - people, places, and things.
Regardless of the method that an individual utilizes to get sober
(e.g. an inpatient treatment, a hospital detoxification, or a detoxification at home),
the process of establishing and maintaining change remains a complicated one.
In The Saddle provides additional support during this complex transition in life. Inspired by the belief that one of the ultimate sources of strength in recovery is the sense of belonging to a fellowship, we feel that through consistent, active participation in bicycle rides and spin classes and community service projects, a new fellowship of recovering individuals, who are "In The Saddle", will be born.
